Maybe you will ask the seller for this question when you purchasing the watch strap on Amazon or eBay or any other websties.
As a watch bands factory produces the leather watch straps, normally we will stamp the size on the back of the leather bands. It is easy for buyers to choose the right size when purchasing the watch band.
But how is the size measured exactly?
The size stamped on the band means the width of the band. It is measured the distance between the watch lugs in millimeters (mm).
What`s more, there are different lengths of a watch strap even the same size. We often told the regular length, short length, long length, and extra-long length when buying the watch strap.
Here is the reference
Regular length: 7 1/4″ to 7 1/2″
Short length: 6 1/2″ to 6 3/4″
Long length: 8 1/4″ to 8 1/2″
Extra long: 9 1/4″ to 9 1/2″
Then how to measure the length of the watch strap?
The band length is determined by measuring the length of both pieces together but not including the buckle.
So here are the steps to follow if you want to choose the right watch strap for your watch.
- Confirm the band size first by measure your watch lugs inside.
- Measure the length around your wrist with seamstress tape or the printable ruler. You will get your wrist perimeter.
- Then choose the right length to fit your wrist perimeter.
For most of the watch bands factory, they just make 1 or 2 kinds of the length- regular length and long length watch bands. That`s what can we searched on the markets.
